SALT FINANCIAL ADVISERS - NEW LICENSEE

Important information about the upcoming changes to our Licensee

Steve Landers (Left) and Ray Phung (Right) - Click here to see our team.

From today (01 February 2024), Salt Financial Advisers (we, us, our) has commenced our business operations under a new authorisation from Salt Financial Group AFSL Pty Ltd. As such, our previous authorisation under Affinia Financial Advisers (Affinia) has ceased.

Please also see some additional information around this transition below:

 1.     Why is Salt Financial Advisers changing the licensee?

Our previous licensee recently had a change of ownership (acquired by another licensee), and as such all advisers were required to transition to the new licensee. We perceived this as an opportunity to apply for our own Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) to continue our operations under, rather than transition to another third-party licensee. Now that we are self-licensed, there will be no further need to change licensees, which allows us to avoid the disruptions that comes with licensee transitions.

2.     How does this affect me as a client?

There will be no change to the way we interact with our clients or the services we offer to you. Steve and Ben will continue to be your advisers and the whole team will continue to assist you in the same manner as before. Becoming self-licensed allows us better control over our service offering and how we continue to meet our regulatory obligations towards our clients. It also allows us to establish and maintain a closer relationship with the regulatory bodies such as ASIC, AFCA etc.

3.     Will there be additional paperwork for me?

No. You will not be required to complete any additional paperwork in relation to this change.

4.     Will I lose access to my portfolio during this transition?

No. As you are also a customer of the product provider you are with; you will continue to have access to your portfolios/insurance covers. You can either log in to your account to access them online or contact them over the phone to obtain information during this period. The team will be happy to assist you in any way they can, if you face any issues in accessing your information.

If you have any further queries or would like to learn more about our new licensee, please do not hesitate to contact us and speak to our Financial Advice team.
